If the parking period exceeds the reserved time, a fee is charged for each additional day or part thereof in accordance with the current price list for parking at Kraków Airport.
This is simply a charge for additional parking time, not a separate fee for a delayed flight. The difference is calculated automatically upon departure—there’s no need to check in beforehand, call the parking lot, or fill out any forms online.

The easiest way to avoid paying extra for parking due to a flight delay
It’s safest to leave yourself a day’s buffer. If you’re planning to return on Friday evening, booking a flight that goes until Saturday often costs only a little more, but it can save you a lot of stress if your flight gets delayed. It’s a small buffer that, in practice, can be more useful than it seems.
This buffer is particularly important for connecting flights, long-haul flights, and trips during the winter or peak summer season. On a long journey with a layover, a delay of a few hours is not uncommon.
A flight delay lasting 24 hours or a canceled flight—what happens with parking then?
There’s also a more challenging scenario: a canceled flight and a return trip the next day. From the parking lot’s perspective, the rule remains the same—your car is safely parked, and a shuttle is available with a phone call, no matter when you ultimately return. The only financial difference will be the additional days of parking.
There’s one thing worth knowing here that goes beyond the parking lot itself. Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004 governs passengers’ rights in the event of significant flight delays and cancellations. For delays exceeding a certain time threshold, passengers are entitled to compensation from the airline. Procedure for delayed return from air travel
Once it is clear that the return will take place later than planned, the process boils down to four steps:
- Check the reservation time – does the actual stop fall within the reserved time slot? If so, you don't need to do anything
- If your stay exceeds the reservation – the additional charge will be automatically applied at checkout, with no extra paperwork required on your part
- After landing – call the number listed on your booking confirmation and provide your estimated time of departure from the arrivals hall
- The bus runs 24 hours a day, and the wait time is usually up to 15 minutes
A delayed return does not require any special action on the customer's part.
Frequent trips and flight delays – a different approach to purchasing a parking spot

A delayed flight does not change the rules for picking up your car from the airport parking lot

When your flight is delayed, three things are most important: the parking lot is open 24/7, the surcharge applies only to the additional parking time, and the transfer will be provided even late at night. If you want to minimize the risk of a surcharge, leave yourself some leeway when booking.
